Efficiency of non-invasive prenatal screening in pregnant women at advanced maternal age

Abstract Background Non-invasive prenatal screening (NIPS) is widely used as the alternative choice for pregnant women at high-risk of fetal aneuploidy. However, whether NIPS has a good detective efficiency advanced maternal age (AMA) not been fully studied especially in Chinese women. Methods Twenty-nine thousand three hundred forty-three AMA with singleton pregnancy who received and followed-up were recruited. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative (NPV), receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves Youden Index detecting chromosomal aneuploidies analyzed. relationship between common aneuploidy was observed. Results PPV, NPV trisomy 21 99.11, 99.96, 90.98, 100%, respectively. These same parameters 18 100, 99.94, 67.92, Finally, these 13 27.78, prevalence increased exponentially age. percentage incidence rate significantly higher 37 years old or above than that 35 to old. ( index = 37). Conclusion It indicated an effective method AMA.
